Chili Challenge February 20 to 23, 2008, Las Cruces NM

Unread postby azyota » Fri Dec 01, 2006 8:27 pm

The dates for the 07 Chili Challenge are posted. Unfortunatly it doesn't look like I can make it this year, but I thought you all would want to know.

Looks like they are suffering the same crap we are. Seems to be plenty of people want everything shut down and designated wilderness.................... So some developer can come in and buy it to build nice little gated communitys :mad2:

I think I edit every post I make for spellin!

Download the latest version of Firefox. It has spell check built in. As you mis-spell a word, it underlines it in red. All you have to do is right click and select the word you meant to spell. :thumb: :thumb:

Im planning to go.

I want to do Patzcuarro’s Revenge, Rocotillo Rapids, and Habenero Falls.

Last year I only made Tabasco Twister took all day then broke a stressed axle shaft on Rocotillo.

There are alot of easy trails as well, but I dont know them...

You can register with the group or start after 12pm and run what ever you want.

It is around Las Cruces, which is southwestern NM. Drive east on I10, and the city proper is right where I25 takes off north. Sure sounds like everybody has fun...

if you don't like lots of people and large crowds watching...its great :) the locals come out and line the whole area usually. it is really fun as long as those things don't bother you :)

Last year was my first trip to CC, and I will be going back for sure! I stayed with a friends family while I was there so I probably missed some of the night time festivties, but we still had a great time. The only draw back was that we were at the end of the pack on the last day and the jeep guys pretty much ran off and left us Toy guys behind, but the trail leader came back and got us... kinda wish they'd split it up by truck flavor in some way, but I'm sure that'd make it way too complicated. A good time none the less.

Chad, i agree that day three sucked on broad canyon as the group did leave us behind but it was still kick butt and we got to run with Brandon (toy guy from Albuquerque) That being said I would love to run with everybody from the site just don't know if we are built enough to run the tall stuff. Either way CC rocks.

Sam, yeah day three did suck, but as was said before I will go back for sure and it was a awesome time for sure! Now, if there's a WAZ group that's planning on going I would be more than open to wheeling with local guys in NM. Anyone? Like Sam said, we probably aren't as built as some, but I'm not against using a strap either. :D

that is true but the trick with him is if he can keep his rig together for a trail or two..I can't remember a trip where he has come back without something being ratchet strapped back together or not get us freaking lost :p

Im down for sure. I was just talking to Angela about it last night starting to plan.

So what do you guys think, should all the guys that dont want to do the 4.5+ trails signup with the organized trail lead groups? I dont know the easier trails in that area and only plan to run the hard ones.

This is what Im looking to run.
