Unread postby BornReadyBinder » Mon Jul 12, 2010 1:16 pm

Need some good moderate trails or trail in the Globe, AZ area. Does anyone know of any? Scenic or whatever. I know they do WeRock? compitions there, but need to find a good trail close by.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hackberry Creek is on the other side of Globe, near Superior. Is this for Scouts?

Yes for the scout club. Hackberry is too far west of globe, I need something actually in the globe area.

Hackberry is my backup plan.

There's gotta be some podunk trail around there somewhere.

Walnut Canyon is nice also but is just as far away as Hackberry Creek. It is just south (about 10 miles) of Superior...http://www.trails.com/tcatalog_trail.aspx?trailid=XFT002-057

Man I wish they had a contact page. I bet they would know.

Something down South 77 towards Winkleman would be ideal. I know people do alot of hunting down there and there are lots of forest service roads, but was wondering if there are any trails down that way that at least require you to lock your hubs in.

Second choice would be north 77 towards Showlow. Been down that hwy millions of times, but have no idea where all the little roads go that shoot off into the country sides.

Superior is just too far west for what I have in mind.

I may just have to use a long weekend and do some exploring.

If you are going to be that close, why not go to Mammoth? You could go south of Winkelman and go up Aravaipa rd, maybe 2 or 3 miles then there is a barbed wire gate with a sign in sheet. Stay on that road and it travels up a pretty good rocky, steep road up to the top of the mountain and on back to painted cave! Me and the boys went hunting there last year. As far as that goes, there are some dirt roads around Dripping springs area, never have been down any of them, the Gila will be on the East side of 77 past Dripping springs, they don't have any roads that cross it like the Frisco though.

All I know about Jared in that area. Sorry!
