WAZ run to Chivo and Chimney Rock Saturday 9/26!

Unread postby Ashman » Mon Sep 28, 2009 6:00 pm

Overall ok trip. We met at the circle K near reddington. Allan showed up frist, I came second, Aaron, then John and Brody, Toby and I think we picked up Mark at three feathers. Later Jim and Tim met us at Chimney.

The plan was to have a trip because John got his junk running, but it wouldent start Sat Morning so John towed Brody. Brody later had a Fuel delivery problem, "out of gas" and some other engine issues.

We first headed out to Chivo falls and just played at three feathers. Then We loaded up the rigs and towed out to Chimney, Afew bad decisions later and we were draging our trailers through the rough road. On one hill my jeep pitched hard and got the trailer on two wheels till the ball maxed out!! My trailer was fully getting it. The other lower trailers took on some carnage. I dont recommend trailering all the way in to Chimney.

I Developed an electrical problem, either faulty alt and or old battery. I kept wheeling but needed a jump after turning it off. Toby had to be pulled out by a sami. Mark got stuck enough to need a strap on each end. Sami so stuck it took two olive drab cherokees to rescue. I think we need to award Mark the trail plug award for this trip. On a plus side he did chauffeur my wife driving the jeep and got a free kick ass coozie.

I tried Jim's gettin it line and failed.

We had a good camp fire going Jim eventually showed up, we cooked up some grub. Arron and jim talked health care late into the night. In the morning we were gonna hit some more lines but my rig was running rough and Aaron puked some up his nose to say the least, not feeling so good. Angela drove the jeep out and I loaded it on the truck and trailer after the rough part of the road.

Overall good times, but it took 1hr to get to redding rd and 1hr on the dirt roads to get to Chimney from my house, there is lots better wheeling within a 2hr drive, but still worth doing.

Not the roughest part, but I wouldn't recommend trailering to Chimney Rock

I think that's more than I wanted to know!
I did find the problem with my Jeep. I just mailed the MSD box back to MSD again for repairs. I'm not real happy with them right now! This was to be the first trail run since I sent it in for repairs in June. It only took them a month to get it back to me last time, I hope it goes quicker this time!

Glad I could help, I however believe it was the malaria medicine that you insisted we pollute the gin with. Your insight into burning what you're drinking was priceless. :thumb:

It took me awhile to realize that tubed-out Jeep is Alan's junkpile! Nice work on getting rid of as much body as possible, loses alot of weight. :thumb:

Soon Jim, soon, we will be ready to head out there and show you the ways  If you get bored cruise over for a beer later.

Duct tape is like the Force. It has a light side and a dark side and it holds Tice's truck together.

I don't forget, my brain just disregards insignificant details in my sleep.

I will agree. I'm deep into mine for the same reasons right now. Going all aluminum floor, and only part of the grill, hood, and cowl from the Jeep body. Also doing seats, boatsides, and wiring(gutted the stock underdash wiring harness) at the same time.
