Bowie, Hot well dunes, March 20-22

Unread postby Ashman » Thu Feb 05, 2015 9:26 am

Were planning a Bowie trip.

Its dunes but knobie tire dunes no paddles too much hard packed.
If there is interest i might bring my buggy out with two trailers and tow vehicles, for now Im just planning to bring the wildcat SXS, quads and dirt bike.

Some examples of past trips.

Well leave after work Thursday 19th and get to camp in the dark.
When you come in the gate to the right there is a pay station so bring some cash. I think its only $3 per day?
Well try to get the camp at the end of the road the largest area so we can fit the RV.

Looks like Tank and Scott are in.
We have about 8-9 familys planning on going with SXSs, ATVs and Dirt bikes.

They do require flags out there. SUV and pickup trucks are exempt, I havent been hassled with my buggy not running a flag but Im borderline, at glamis you would need one on any jeep if your not at camp.

As you already know Dave, we can't make it. Morenci has me and my balls this time. Bah, next time I guess. We bought the truck and camper so we're pretty well set. Just need to get the torsion hitch. I'm not sure the set up will be able to handle the tounge weight of the Jeep. Another $1200 well spent?

Same weekend in March 10 years ago...

Had a cool rain at night got up early to comp hill and the valley was all fogged out. A cool picture and a fun trip.

The 10 year anniversary of tire iron hill.
