86 Sammi build

Unread postby bakednaz » Fri Oct 09, 2009 4:23 pm

I finished the Tracker and wheeled it a few times with my wife. She enjoys it as much as I do so I decided to build her a crawler too. I was lucky and got a 86 tin top in trade for a kids 90cc quad. The Sammi was rolled at some time so the PO cut the back half of the top off. I decided to that I am going to cut the rest of the top off and trim the sides down a bit. I will post progrees pics as I go, it will be slow though!

Here is a pic of it just after the lift and tires. Just did a basic spring over for a lift. I am planning on YJ's and Yota axles.

Anybody good with paint? Show me what you think a stretch and roll cage should look like.

Should look GOOD, like a JEEP :flipoff: if you stretch it enough :thumb:

I think I would try and cut a little closer to the windshield though, otherwise-looks GOOD :bow2:

Yea, I still need to do some trim work. I am thinking a shackle reversal on the front with a little stretch, and the bulk of the stretch out back. Not sure if i want to go 2 or four seat though.

Man that blows Tucker! When did you wreck your ride? :flipoff:

Something like this? The black is where I would bring it in a stretch.

Marc, it was a tin top that the PO cut the back half off of. I had thought about trying to make a truck out of it but ultimately decided to go with a bugy based sammi.

Brabham, I am not opposed to no windshield. I am trying to find a good looking functional cage. Although a windshield would be nice :thumb:
