Unread postby Bad Andy » Sat May 30, 2009 7:41 pm

i have 94 sahara that had a hardtop. the guy i got it from had it stolen when he was in Phx. it has a soft top on it. do hard top jeep have a stiffer spring than soft tops? if so is there a way to remove a leaf to soften the ride? any help would be helpful. thanks andy

Sure you can remove leafs out of any of the spring packs. Depending on lift or clearance purposes, you can soften them up-this means that they also will de-arch quicker and or wear out easier. As far as being stiffer or softer because of the top-I don't know-kind of makes since though but it may not be that big of a weight difference!

If you want a better ride spring for some better shocks, I pulled the rancho shocks off my jeep and replaced them with bilstein 5150s and it made a huge difference
