tj steering has some play in it

Unread postby jeeperak » Mon Oct 27, 2008 4:36 am

ok if its not been one thing its been another this yr, my steering seems to have a dead spot wear it wont turn, and when im driving it will weave back and forth in that dead spot,

so im guessing i need a new box, i check all heims and bolts and things are tight just no action at the arm for about 1/4 turn of the wheel

Duct tape is like the Force. It has a light side and a dark side and it holds Tice's truck together.

tie rod end is clicking when you pull on it. Think he's gonna try to lube it and see what happens. The rest of the steering looks tight.

if the TRE is clicking and the truck is wandering...chances are, lubing is not going to help. the TRE is shot. just my .02
